| POSITION SUMMARY | |||||||||||||||||
| Under administrative direction, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care. Provides direction to development and evaluation of nursing personnel. Maintains operational aspects of the unit in collaboration with administrative support service on a twenty-four hour basis. Further contributes to Nursing department and the hospital through support of philosophy, goals and objectives, educational efforts and research efforts. | |||||||||||||||||
| QUALIFICATIONS | |||||||||||||||||
| Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current unrestricted PA license. BSN required. Master's preferred. Certification in Emergency Nursing or obtained within 1 year of employment required. | |||||||||||||||||
| Experience: Minimum seven (7) to ten (10) years clinical experience with at least five (5) years in a Trauma Certified Emergency Department. Minimum of five (5) years of management experience, preferable at the Director level, in an Emergency Department working with emergency trained physicians utilizing clinical based practice. | |||||||||||||||||
| Specific Requirements: Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to perform under stress; meet competing demands from all members of the healthcare team. Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills needed to create a collaborative team and maintain superior customer satisfaction. Demonstrates commitment to quality assurance program. Demonstrates ability to ensure cost effective staff scheduling and budgeting.
