POSITION SUMMARY

Under administrative direction, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care. Provides direction to development and evaluation of nursing personnel. Maintains operational aspects of the unit in collaboration with administrative support service on a twenty-four hour basis. Further contributes to nursing department and hospital through support of philosophy, goals and objectives, education efforts, and research efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor degree required. Masters degree in Nursing Management preferred.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience with at least one (1) year in clinical specialty. Management experience preferred.

Specific Requirements: Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to perform under stress; meet competing demands from all members of the healthcare team. Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills needed to create a collaborative team and maintain superior customer satisfaction. Demonstrates commitment to quality assurance program. Demonstrates ability to ensure cost effective staff scheduling and budgeting. Must be able to speak, write and understand the English language to effectively communicate with predominantly English-speaking population.
