Advanced Imaging Technology
Quality, Convenient Service

The Vascular Laboratory at CMC is dedicated to patients and their doctors. Certified by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL), the Vascular Lab at CMC is committed to high-quality patient care. This complete on-site facility uses the most advanced technology that's available in the field of non-invasive vascular testing. Color-flow duplex ultrasound with 3-D imaging helps physicians diagnose vascular disorders quickly and precisely. Our staff members make every effort to accommodate patients who require urgent same day studies. This proven combination of people, technology and procedures enables the Vascular Lab at CMC to provide unparalleled patient-focused care to Northeastern Pennsylvania.

EASY ACCESS TO ADVANCED ON-SITE VASCULAR SERVICES

Convenient Scheduling
Referring patients to the Vascular Laboratory at CMC is easy. We offer a convenient schedule to allow referring physicians the ability to meet their patients' needs. Patients are ensured an efficient and timely pre-registration process.

Clinical Expertise
A registered vascular technologist (RVT) supervises the lab's activities. Our technologists combine excellent clinical expertise with a professional philosophy that always puts patient care first. Under the RVT's supervision, each patient receives special individual attention. Upon arrival, the RVT obtains a comprehensive clinical vascular history and physical examination. Together with the referring physician orders and the RVT's initial assessment, comprehensive vascular testing is performed.

Accurate Results
All vascular studies are reviewed by a supervising physician, ensuring timely, comprehensive, accurate results. The lab is committed to quality improvement and maintains a continuous QA program. Preliminary results are telephoned and/or faxed to each patient's referring physician after completion of the test. Professional interpretations are rendered as soon as possible, thereafter.

Patient Education
As part of our commitment to comprehensive care, the RVT helps patients and their families to understand their disease process. Complimentary educational brochures are available in the laboratory for the patient. These cover multiple vascular disorders, both arterial and venous.

ADVANCED ON-SITE TECHNOLOGY

The Vascular Laboratory at CMC has complete, on-site diagnostic services for 3-D color duplex ultrasound studies. Tests include:

Carotid Duplex Ultrasound
Evaluates the pathology and blood-flow state of the cerebrovascular system.

Venous Duplex Ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging technology that routinely assists in identifying blood clots or deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

Arterial Duplex Ultrasound
Identifies arteries with atherosclerosis. Also evaluates patients with bypass reconstructions.

Arterial PVR/Doppler Exam
Provides indirect pressure and volume measurements of the arterial system.

Laser Doppler Evaluation
Measures skin perfusion pressure and provides a quantitative evaluation of small vessel disease for wound healing potential.

CMC’S VASCULAR LABORATORY IS THE
