Russell Stahl, MD - Cardiothoracic Surgeon
Dr. Stahl was born in Staten Island, N.Y. and graduated from Cornell University and New York University School of Medicine. He completed nine years of training in general surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in 1992.
Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at CMC since 2000, Dr. Stahl has been a leader in quality improvement and outcomes research. A by-product of this effort, CMC has consistently posted better than expected outcomes in heart surgery for the past nine years. More recent efforts in transparent outcomes reporting have focused on general thoracic and vascular surgery, involving Dr. Stahl’s partners at Premiere Surgical, LLC.
Dr. Stahl has dedicated himself to convergence across the region with a goal of better value for health care from a patient’s perspective. CATCH '09 is actually the sixth consecutive regional symposium organized by Dr. Stahl and his colleagues.
